We have two Adult Sunday School classes: 8:15 am and 9:30 am.  Both classes are usually working on a book study that can be anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks long. Please contact the church office for information on the current and/or upcoming study. Newcomers are always welcome in both classes.

Our program aims to nurture, reach out to the community and educate through ministries and worship. The care groups, referred to as "Shepherd Groups" by some churches, are groups of 16 to 18 people who meet at least six times a year for fellowship. Our care groups schedule activities, such as family events, dining out and attending plays, concerts and sporting events. Our purpose is to get to know one another and care for each other. The composition of each group changes every year so we get to know a lot of people in our congregation.

In 1997, our church established a Columbarium (Memorial Garden) as a new ministry for members. The area located behind the church, provides a special place for the internment or scattering of ashes for church members and their immediate families. The garden also provides a memorial wall for which church members may purchase a plaque to honor a deceased family member or friend. Niches or memorial plaques may be purchased through the Columbarium (Memorial Garden) Committee.

The gentle pain-free exercise class meets from 7:30 to 8:30 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the church. The class, which is $45, is offered to men and women in 10 week sessions. Our Mission is to challenge, encourage and promote better health through physical exercise. Flex ‘N Stretch is a wellness program of activities which provides a higher quality of life thru responsible movement that is pain free and possible for all participants. This well- organized exercise program teaches all participants how to do the exercises easily and safely, including seniors. Benefits include increased range of motion, coordination, strength, balance and agility, all of which improve the quality of life and lead to longer independent living. All Flex 'N Stretch instructors have completed training in Berea, KY, and are certified to teach. Come, join the fun and experience the benefits! We offer three 10 week sessions per year. Contact the church office to find out when the next class starts!

Both of these libraries are located in the narthex area of the Sanctuary.  See below for more information about the Wesley Resource Center for Spiritual Growth.

Marathon Bridge players meet on the second Friday of each month (September through May).

Our singles get together for a planned event, usually every 2-3 months.  The event often is or includes lunch or dinner somewhere in Northwest Arkansas.

The Stitchers meet from 1:00-3:00 pm on the fourth Wednesday of every month. Everyone is welcome to join in while the group gets together to stitch, crochet or knit and enjoy some fellowship. Patterns (crochet or knit) are available for the Prayer Shawls and/or the Prayer Squares for any participant that would like to contribute to those ministries.

Also known as HUMMERS (short for Highlands United Methodist Men). All male members of the church are automatically members. Breakfast meetings are at 7:45 am on the first Tuesday of each month in Fellowship Hall.  The HUMMERS play golf  each Monday (weather permitting), volunteer at the Bella Vista Recycling Center and organize blood drives with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks throughout the year.

The entire program and organization of United Methodist Women (UMW) focuses on missions. All women members of Highlands Church and their guests are welcome. Continental breakfast meetings are at 9:30 am on the second Monday of each month in the church's Fellowship Hall. The UMW offers reading programs, book clubs, golfing leagues and regular outings and events.

Highlands Church is uniquely positioned to support individual spiritual study. Resources are available in Highlands Church’s Wesley Resource Center for Spiritual Growth. The Wesley Resource Center (WRC) has books that reflect Highlands Church’s mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. There are two ways the Wesley Resource Center can be accessed. First, book racks are located in the Gathering Area and contain many of the popular materials that are frequently utilized. Second, resources to dig deeply into the Word of God are in the quiet and comfort of the Luke room. All books have been chosen carefully for the people in this community—in our church and outside the walls of our church. All books are available for borrow and return.

If you are facing heart surgery, the members of the Zipper Club will be happy to visit with you to share their personal experiences or issues.
